By accessing or using Soniva ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.
Soniva is a teaching-first studio management platform designed to help singing teachers organise lesson notes, student progress, repertoire, and scheduling. The Service is provided by BGVoiceStudio.
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful teaching and studio management purposes. You will not:
The Service, its features, workflows, and design are provided solely for your personal professional use as a singing teacher. You may not resell, sub-license, white-label, or commercially redistribute access to the Service. You may not use the Service as part of a competing product, nor may you use data extracted from the Service to build, train, or improve a competing platform. Any breach of this clause constitutes a material violation of these Terms.
You acknowledge that the pedagogical methodologies, workflows, and structural design embodied in the Service are proprietary to BGVoiceStudio. While you retain ownership of the specific content you input, the system architecture, feature design, and operational logic of the Service remain confidential. You agree not to disclose, replicate, or assist others in replicating the Service's design or functionality.
Students with portal access can request lessons through their private portal link. If you enable automatic booking, requests are confirmed instantly and synced to your Google Calendar. Otherwise, they appear as pending requests on your dashboard for you to confirm or decline. Automatic booking relies on your Google Calendar integration to check availability and create calendar events. Payment links associated with lesson types are powered by Stripe; Stripe processes all payment card details and we never store card numbers.
The Service offers optional integration with Google Calendar to help you manage your teaching schedule. When you connect your calendar, Soniva accesses your calendar events to display them within your workspace, check your availability for lesson bookings, and create, update, or delete calendar events when a lesson request is confirmed, amended, or cancelled. You may disconnect this integration at any time via Settings, which revokes our access to your Google Calendar data.
The Service offers optional integration with Canvas LMS (by Instructure) to help teachers who work within institutions bring institutional context into their workspace. When you connect Canvas, you provide a personal API token generated within your own Canvas account. Soniva uses this token to import your Canvas course rosters into your student list, pull read-only course totals and per-assignment scores for display on a student’s workspace, and post lesson notes as a comment on a student’s submission for an assignment you choose. Soniva does not post formal grades to the Canvas gradebook. Your Canvas API token is stored per-teacher and can be revoked in Canvas at any time; disconnecting the integration from Settings removes your token and clears the connection. Canvas roster and grade data is accessed solely to display institutional context within your own account and is not shared with third parties.
You retain ownership of all teaching records and student information you input. You are responsible for ensuring you have consent to store any personal data about your students. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from within your workspace.
The Service, its software, branding, design, workflows, and underlying code are the intellectual property of BGVoiceStudio. The name "Soniva, The Companion for Voice Teachers", the Soniva logo, and all associated branding are trademarks of BGVoiceStudio and may not be used without express written permission. You retain full ownership of all content you input into the Service - including lesson notes, student records, repertoire notes, and journal entries. By using the Community Library, you grant other users a limited, non-exclusive licence to view and adopt your shared pedagogical content for their own teaching. This licence does not extend to commercial redistribution or inclusion in competing products.
You are solely responsible for any sheet music, scores, arrangements, lyrics, or other copyrighted material ("Sheet Music") you upload to, store in, or share through the Service. Soniva does not host, curate, or supply a library of Sheet Music; it provides storage for files you choose to upload for your own teaching use. By uploading or sharing any Sheet Music, you represent and warrant that:
You acknowledge that unauthorised reproduction or distribution of copyrighted Sheet Music may constitute copyright infringement and may give rise to civil and criminal liability. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BGVoiceStudio against any claim, damages, costs, or losses arising from your uploading or sharing of Sheet Music or third-party links through the Service. BGVoiceStudio reserves the right to remove, without notice, any Sheet Music it reasonably believes infringes copyright, and to suspend or terminate accounts found to be repeatedly sharing infringing material. If you believe Sheet Music made available through the Service infringes your copyright, contact us at bgvoicestudio@gmail.com with details of the work and the item concerned, and we will review and act on valid notices in accordance with applicable law.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all of your data. BGVoiceStudio reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use policy, or the No Commercial Exploitation clause, or that create risk or liability for the Service or its users. Suspension or termination may occur without prior notice in cases of suspected misuse, reverse engineering, or unauthorised automation.
Subscription pricing, if applicable, is displayed within the Service. BGVoiceStudio reserves the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not liable for temporary outages, data loss caused by factors outside our control, or third-party service disruptions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BGVoiceStudio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you have questions about these Terms, please reach out to us at bgvoicestudio@gmail.com.
